    iRiver Clix 2 GB Review

Are you looking for an MP3 player but don't want to become a Podhead? There are plenty of alternatives out there. Today we review the iRiver Clix, a relatively inexpensive answer to the iPod Nano.

    Introduction

Competing with the Apple Ipod is not an easy thing to do, because of their reign as the king of MP3 players.  In recent years, though, other companies such as Scandisk, Samsung, and iRiver, have stepped up the competition immensely and have leveled the playing field.  Today, with all of the competition out there amongst MP3 players, you can purchase a great quality player at affordable prices, and this wasn't possible five years ago.

iRiver produced the U10 a couple of years ago, and it was a great player.  It did not sell very well, though, because its competitors were priced much lower.  In order to remedy this problem, iRiver recently introduced the iRiver Clix 2GB MP3 player.  This is basically the same player as the U10, with some updates and minor adjustments.

The new Clix is now very competitive with players such as the iPod Nano, with a MRSP price around $169.  As of the date of this writing, this player can be purchased for around $100 with a little bit of searching on the Internet.  If you are looking for a bit more storage than the 2 GB available in this player, you can step up to the 4 GB player which has an MRSP of $199, and this player can be found online for about $150.

Whichever way you go, you can't lose with this player.  It has everything we look for in a good MP3 player including good looks and size, great sound quality, and awesome features.
