Vidabox HTPC Wireless Keyboard - Hooking it up

In order to use this keyboard with your HTPC, you need to use their included USB receiver.  This small device plugs into an open USB port on the HTPC and communicates with the keyboard.

Many HTPC cases have USB ports available on the front AND back of the machines.  On my particular unit, I have USB ports on the front, behind a closing door.

In the above pictures, you can see the available ports on the front of my HTPC, as well as the unit plugged into it. While this is functional, its really not how I want my system to look all of the time. And I know if I plug the receiver into a USB port on the back of the unit, not only will I increase the clearance required behind the machine, but I will also effectively cut down on the range of the keyboard, since the receiver is now obstructed. So what to do?

Luckily, Vidabox took this into consideration as well. Inside the box is a small USB extension cable.  Using this, you can plug the receiver into the cable, and then plug the cable into the back of the HTPC. You can then mount the receiver in a more suitable location.  In the above picture, you can see I chose to set the receiver on the top of the HTPC itself. A little double sided tape would keep it in place nicely.
