TechniSat SkyStar 2 DVB-S Satellite PCI Card - Specifications and Characteristics

Obviously, the reception of digital DVB-S television and radio channels are its main characteristic, as well as teletext capabilities aren't forgotten either. Also, the card it capable of high-speed Internet access and other data transfer related services. The latter is possible assuming, of course, that the user has the necessary equipment (satellite dish, feedhorn) and an ISP (Internet Service Provider) that allows the previously mentioned technologies.

In a nutshell, with this card you can watch a tremendous number of digital TV programmes and listen to radio channels directly from your computer. Its main purpose is to broadcast data streams via a satellite dish. That's a must-have but it's quite self-explanatory because this card is a satellite receiver, so the user should intuitively recognize the need for a dish and LNBF (low-noise block converter feedhorn).

    External Connectors: F Type (female)

    Nominal Input Impedance: 75 ohm

Overload and Short Circuit Protection: Neither.

Maximum Input Rate for QPSK (quadrature phase shift keying): 85 Mbps

    Power Consumption: < 17W

       System requirements:

    PCI Interface: PCI 2.1 (5v) - standard

OS Support: Windows 2000 (SP4+), Windows XP (SP2) and XP x64, Windows 2003

INTEL PENTIUM III 700MHz+ (for TV recept.) and 500MHz+ (for data recept.)

Recommended Memory: 128MB RAM; Minimum: 64MB RAM.

This is enough about the specifications of the card. For more information please read the official TechniSat Datasheet for this product.
