Microsoft Optical Notebook Mouse Review - Microsoft's Mousy Mouthful

Browsing around, I came across something that looked like it had all the right stuff. It's amazing what happens when something is designed from the ground up for its task. That device was the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse. While its name is a handful, the hardware itself isn't even close to that size. It's a pint sized piece of hardware, to say the least. What it does pack though, is an optical sensor and wireless transmitter.

The mouse is very tiny, to the point that I can completely hide it in my hand. This makes it ideal for porting around. The downside is that it's not the most comfortable mouse of all time to use. Instead of resting on the mouse itself for support, your hand has to sit on the desk itself. There aren't really any groves on which to put your fingers, other than the two for the main mouse buttons. However, that does leave it open for lefties to use freely without having to cant their hands at awkward angles. In addition to the two main buttons, there's also the addictive scroll wheel that I can't live without any longer. Other than that, it's bare bones Jones.
