Logitech MediaPlay Cordless Mouse
As more and more people move their computers into their living rooms in the form of HTPC's (home entertainment), a demand for quality peripherals that meet the needs of these couch-potato computer geeks has arisen. Today we look at Logitech's wireless MediaPlay mouse and see if it will satisfy those folks.

I'll go ahead and skip the introductions, as I'm sure everyone knows Logitech for either their peripherals or their speakers. Today, we're looking at a mouse that has a different purpose than any other Logitech mouse.
It may borrow a few design cues from others, but it's intended audience is quite different. The MediaPlay Cordless Mouse is Logitech's answer to the unasked question: "What do you get when you mate a TV remote with a computer mouse?" The manufacturer's web site didn't have any listed specs on this cross-breed, but what they did have is a really cool Flash virtual tour of which can be found here.

The packaging was nothing special, but it did keep everything secure. As you might notice, the mouse that I received came with a $10 coupon for Musicmatch's MP3 download store. However, this deal will be expired by the time this article goes to print. I don't want anyone basing their purchase on that, and then finding out it no longer applies.

Up next, we'll take a look at the mouse's design and how well it actually works.
