Logitech MX1000 Review - Wrapping your hand around a rodent
(Page 6 of 7 )
Compared to the Logitech Cordless Mouseman Optical, the MX series seems much more substantial. It's taller, fitting better in a larger hand. I have notoriously large hands; I can easily palm a basketball, and my Iron Ring is a size 10 1/2...which goes on my pinky. For comparison's sake, I brought all my rodents over to my Mom's place. She pointed out something I hadn't noticed: the MX has such a dish to its sides that it even fits smaller hands comfortably.
The Mouseman, on the other hand, feels wider because you can't cup it as much. The Logitech Wheel Mouse, a cheap piece of crap optical mouse if ever there was one, just feels cheap. There's no sculpting to it, you just kinda toss your two fingers on it, and splay the rest out on your desk. Not the most ergonomic of designs...but what do you expect when you can have ten of them for the cost of one MX1000? It's also much lighter than the other two wireless designs.

As far as range is concerned, the MX1000 had maybe a steps worth advantage over the Mouseman Optical. Not huge, but I already considered the range of the older mouse to be sufficient to play movies from my bed. They are both rated to "six feet", but go well beyond that. It's closer to 13-14 feet instead. Of course, I don't have any other real interference to disrupt them either, so your mileage may vary.
