Logitech MX1000 Review - Other useful features

Another modification is the addition of a side to side "tilt" to the scroll wheel. They basically ripped off Microsoft for this, but I can't blame them. If you work in large spreadsheets, or on a monitor with a small resolution, it's as invaluable as the vertical scroll has become. Putting together my data for reviews, it's a definite time saver.

One more time saving feature is the application switch button. This was on the MX700/900, but where it was placed made it easier to use alt-tab, or like me, the scroll wheel on your Logitech keyboard to move from window to window. With the button on the side of the mouse near your thumb in between the "back" and "forward" buttons, it's a lot more accessible.

Moving on to the subjective tests, I decided to give this mouse some back to back seat time with a few other mice I have sitting around. Since Logitechs designs are pretty much meant for righties, that's how it was set up. I'm lefthanded, but I've learned to accept that that's how mice are made now; even Microsoft's previously ambidextrous designs are starting to be tilted for righties, especially in the Explorer versions. Damn them for being over 80% of the human race! Where's the Leftporium anyway?
