Logitech Harmony 1000 - Performance/Conclusion

Performance/Conclusion
The performance of the controls is very good. The touch-screen works very well and has just the right amount of sensitivity. I don't find any performance issues with this remote when it comes to operating the functions. There is a problem with the battery life of this remote, as I have already mentioned. I wouldn't make the sub-par battery life a deal-breaker though, because Logitech has included a recharging docking station with the purchase of the remote so you don't have to worry about batteries.
In order to get the best performance from the remote, the user just needs to remember to place the remote into the docking station when it is not in use. Most people will remember to dock the remote, because it looks nice and neat at a 45 degree angle while sitting in the docking station. When the user takes the remote off the docking station, the Harmony 1000's motion sensor automatically turns the remote on.

There aren't too many bad things that I can say about this remote. The price is relatively good, and the base set of features is also good. I would have liked to see better battery life, an included RF module, and an easier programming experience. But I would say that these are all minor gripes, and they probably shouldn't play a huge part in the decision to purchase the Harmony 1000. I would say the positive aspects of this tablet-style remote far outweigh the negatives.
I would recommend the Logitech Harmony 1000 to anyone looking for their first tablet-style all-in-one remote, or for people who need an inexpensive remote to operate their home theater. I look forward to seeing future remote controls in Logitech's Harmony series.
