Jenoptik 8 Megapixel Camera Review - Conclusion

One thing I've noticed is that the camera can be a little slow to delete pictures in view mode, but there is at least a busy light that lets you know when you can start doing things again and the delay is minimal.  The flash also recharges very quickly, which again makes it stand out from other cameras I've used in this price bracket.

Overall I was pleased with the design and usability of the camera; it looks great, is packed with useful features and adjustability and is very simple to use.  The menu system is intuitive and well produced and the quality of image the camera captures is high.  There are a couple of minor annoyances, but these certainly don't out-weigh the many benefits.  It doesn't quite cut it as a professional camera, but its value for money easily makes it one of the better family or beginner cameras on the market.

    Pros

    • Excellent value for money
    • Good quality image capture
    • Large 2.4 inch TFT screen
    • Lightweight and compact
    • Up to 8 MP resolution
    • Video out
    • 32MB internal memory plus SD/MMC Card compatible
    • DPOF and PictBridge compatible
    • Uses PhotoRite for automatic picture correction
    • Excellent battery life
    • Rechargeable (with separate cable)
    • Feature rich

    Cons

    • Bulky, out of place wrist-strap attachment
    • Sometimes slow to operate
    • Internal storage used up very quickly
    • Recharge cable must be purchased separately
    • Only USB 1.1 spec
