Icy Dock MB452 Review - Features and Specifications

Before opening the box, I surfed over to Icy Dock’s website to get the features and specifications on the MB452.  The features are listed as follows:

    • Host : Plug & Play USB2.0, USB 2.0 + eSATA combo
    • Drive Fit : Hot Swappable 1 x 3.5" SATA I or II
    • Multi-drive exchangeability and maintenance capabilities with simple removal of drive tray
    • Solid aluminum construction to protect your storage drive and provide the overall cooling
    • Warm air intake fan cooling of drive
    • Horizontal/vertical positioning options with retractable foot stands for vertical lay
    • Safeguard key lock capable of power control to disable data accessibility from others
    • Interchangeable drive capability, making data accessible as desired when using a PC platform

One of the nice things about this unit is that if you have additional drive trays, you can remove one drive tray and insert another without needing to unplug the unit from your computer, or even worse, needing to power down your computer entirely.
