    Icemat Siberia - Accessories

Going on to the accessories, included we find a clip-mic, a screen holder for the mic, an extension cord for your headset, a 1/4-inch adapter, and instructions for attaching the clip-mic to your screen.

The cord on the Siberia is only about 1 meter long. This is perfect if you're constantly close to your sound source, as is the case with a small music studio, playing video games, or walking around with your MP3 player. Icemat also included an extension cable for those times when you're not close to your sound source, as is the case with larger studios, playing very lively video games (when reaching for a pizza may be involved), and during those times when you want to listen to a movie, but don't want to bother anyone else. Although the specs say that the extension cord is 1.8 meters, it's actually a bit longer, just over 2 meters. The extension has a 1/8-inch plug and jack, and includes a volume control unit.

The included microphone is a great addition for anyone who teleconferences, plays Internet-enabled video games, or prefers to use IP telephony. This unidirectional unit comes with a cable that the company claims is 1.8 meters, but is actually much longer, making it about as long as the unit's pick up cord and extension combined, or about 3 meters.

The microphone's recording quality is quite good, and it's able to pick up well from different distances. Those using the microphone to record themselves will find that clipping it to their shirt and pointing the microphone towards their mouth is good enough to get a rather clear sound. The length of the cord is also such that it allows for anyone teleconferencing or playing a video game in an Internet environment to have a bit of walking room, perhaps to reach for another slice of pizza.

The microphone comes with a small switch that allows users to mute the mic. Unfortunately, the microphone is not labeled, so it takes some fiddling to figure out what's mute and what's not. (You can see the switch in the picture above.)

One last design note of interest is the Siberia's solution to the cord-tangling problem: clips along the audio-cord extension cable help keep the mic's cord and extension cord from getting tangled during usage. Luckily, the cords aren't particularly prone to entanglement.
