Icemat Siberia In:Ear Headset - Testing and Conclusion
(Page 4 of 4 )
I’ve somehow gotten the label of "audiophile" here around the office. I suppose it’s my love of music, and my years of being a DJ that give me a sharp and critical ear.

To be totally serious, when I plugged in the headset the first thing I did was open winamp. The next song on my playlist was by the Offspring. I went ahead and let it play while I typed a few notes before I jumped into a game of Unreal Tournament.
Let’s just say that "WOW" does not describe it. I have used a good number of in-ear headphones, but none of them were able to reproduce the clarity the Icemat Sibera In:ear headset gave me.
Moving on, I tested music ranging from Broadway musicals to huge battle scenes in some of my favorite movies. I then moved into testing with some online game playing (uncluding Unreal Tournament and Quake 4) to test the microphone. I found the microphone to be just as solid as the earbuds. In gaming, Internet calls, and even voice recording, each instance was decidedly loud and clear.
So now we are down to the Pros and Cons for this product:
Pros:
- Awesome quality
- Microphone is separate, earbuds can be used without it
- Odd but very-well fitting sleeves
- Extension cable that accommodates earbuds and microphone
- Priced well for such good sound quality (approximately $35 at the time of this writing)
Cons:
- Carrying case is a little small, and won't stay closed
Based on the above info, I would give this headset a strong 9 on a scale of 1-10, and Dev Hardware’s Gold Award. If you are looking for an in-ear headset with these features, the Icemat Sibera In:Ear headset is the one for you.
