Hauppauge MediaMVP Review - Inside the package

The MediaMVP comes in a retail box, clearly aimed at taking its place on the shelves at your nearest electronics store. The contents inside are held rather snugly by a cardboard tray.

Opening the box, we find the contents are as follows:

    • MediaMVP Unit
    • Stand
    • Wall mounted power supply
    • Remote control (batteries included)
    • Installation CD-ROM
    • Quick Install Guide
    • 1.5 meter AV cables
    • 1.5 meter Ethernet cable

The MediaMVP unit itself is pretty compact.  It's only about eight inches across and  less than two inches thick.  It reminds me of a five port router in size and shape.

But if you look on the back, the ports tell you a different story:

As you can see above, there are AV ports (including an S-Video port), a power jack, and an RJ-45 connection (to hook to your network).  It looks simple enough to hook up, so let's give it a shot!
