HP Photosmart A626 Compact Travel Printer
(Page 1 of 4 )
With all of our electronics becoming portable these days, it was only natural for printers to head in that direction too. Released back in August of 2007, the HP A626 travel printer is not the first of its kind, but it is certainly one of the best on the market for 2007. This article will delve into the the individual features and specs of the A626, so sit back, relax, and enjoy reading about this fine product from HP.
The A626 is a printer that will allow you to print 4 x 6, 5 x 7, or 4 x 12 panoramic photos while traveling or anywhere else you might need to print off some photos. The A626 is probably the best compact printer available from HP, although there is some tough competition from other manufacturers for the title of best compact printer on the market.
Needless to say, a compact travel printer is not for everyone. With so many retailers and drug stores offering discount prints for as little as 12 cents each, most people will be happy to avoid the costs and hassle of traveling with a photo printer. The cost per print of photos printed with the A626 is in the 30-38 cent range (depending upon ink and paper costs). So as you can see, the A626 will not save you money per print in most cases. What this printer does give you is convenience, privacy, quicker photos, and some picture editing options. Those are the four main advantages of using a device such as the HP A626, and I will touch on all of these advantages throughout this review.
The A626 comes with a pretty hefty price tag. A few months after its release, the price of the A626 remains at about $175. It may be a bit too high, but you do get a lot of cool features for the price. Some of the features available in the A626 include a nice 4.8 inch touch-screen LCD display, an ultra compact design, an optional rechargeable battery pack, and some photo editing options.
