Bluetake Bluetooth EDR USB Adapter (BT007Ex) Review - Pairing and Connecting Bluetooth Devices
(Page 3 of 5 )
It is time to pair the devices. After I went into the menu in the system tray, I clicked on “Bluetooth Settings.” This brought up a New Connection Wizard. It prompted me to put the other Bluetooth device into pairing mode. I set the headphones so that they were blinking red and blue, as I described in the last article. Then I figured I would take the easy way, and selected the Express Mode.

I’m not sure what it was about Express Mode, but it went through a detection process and then returned an error.

This isn’t a problem yet. The second time through, I selected the Custom Mode. It correctly found the I-PHONO Mini very quickly. It let me select the device, and then let me choose the service, A2DPSink or Headset. I picked A2DPSink, as the headphones instructions said I should.

It let me choose an icon that then appeared on the Toshiba Bluetooth panel.

Then it is just a matter of clicking and connecting. I might also add that the instructions said that connecting software would require a PIN to connect to the headphone. It said to enter a series of zeros, but I never saw a dialog box or security request for the PIN.
Everything leading up to this point has been extremely easy, far easier than I expected when I was opening the box. It's now time to test the equipment itself.
