    * These are the only applications that provide full functionality of the included remote. You cannot use the remote to control other software.

The Audio Sender and Audio Receiver look very similar. If they were not labeled it would be difficult to tell them apart. The power supplies that come with each of them are also unique. The included Getting Started Guide explains how to tell the power supplies apart, and to which base station they belong. The connections on the back of the base units are even identical except for the labels.

The AudioStation Software is the center of the Sonic Link system. As noted above it is the only software that interfaces with the bundled remote. The remote will adjust volume for any application, but track changing, pausing, stopping, or starting only affect the AudioStation Software. Turtle Beach even includes a Windows Media video explaining how to utilize AudioStation.

Think of AudioStation as similar to iTunes only without the ability to buy music online. It plays CDs from the PC's optical drive, encodes CDs to MP3 or WMA formats, downloads CD track names from CDDB, creates playlists, etc.

    • TurtleRadio interface allows for signing up for and playing TurtleRadio internet stations.

    • AudioView 32 lets you record and edit CD-quality audio files with several track editing features.

    • MIDI Orchestrator 32 lets you play and edit MIDI music files with an easy to use mixer interface.

    • HipHop eJay, as suggested by its name, is a program that allows you to create dance mixes and comes with samples and loops.

    • Music Write 2000 enables you to compose and edit musical scores.

Some of these software packages seem to overlap their functionality, but perhaps to someone more involved in music creation there might be huge differences between them.

Turtle Beach includes a program called Voyetra Turtle Beach SoundCheck that can run the audio system through a battery of tests to help diagnose any problems.

Perhaps it is unfair to say this, but as mentioned, Turtle Beach includes several MP3s on the installation disc that, to be honest, won't be played by just about anyone buying the SonicLink.
