Sennheiser HD 500 Fusion Stereo Headphones Review - Final Verdict
(Page 6 of 6 )
So, I guess my verdict is clear. These headphones are good.In fact, they're really good. Arethey worth the $100 CompUSA charged us for? I think so, although some peopleapparently disagree, seeing as I later found these online for as little as $70(USD). Cost aside, the headphones offer a great bang for the buck. They'relightweight, comfortable, generally well designed, and are packed with greatdocumentation. The two year warrantee isn’t too shabby, either.
Pros:
- Extremely light weight.
- Comfortable to wear for extended periods.
- Great documentation of the headphone’s construction.
- Quality interchangeable parts.
- Spectacular, top quality sound. Extremely clear across most ranges.
- Great bass!
Cons:
- Pricey.
- Sound passes easily through the padding.
- Not very portable.
- Upper sound range seems secondary to lower sound.
Now that you've read our review, let me ask you the following: how would you like to own these Headphones? No,I'm not talking about a “buy it now” link. I'm referring to the DevHardware/OCAddiction Article SubmissionContest! That's right, we're having a contest! Grand prize is a brand newpair of Sennheiser Fusion HD500 headphones, the same ones you just finishedreading about. After all, what kind of host would I be if I didn't spread thewealth? That's why our marketing gurus, a bunch of bored Himalayan monks lockedin John Caputo's laundry room (routinely forced to cook shoes in the dryer forsustenance), came up with the following contest: Write a review or tutorial andwin these awesome headphones. We’ll give away these headphones to the personwho writes the best article, as decided by our panel of judges (picturedbelow):

*Don't worry. Thereview was written before the monks came up with the contest, so the review'scontent was not affected by the decision to give these puppies away. Also, noneof the judges shown is me (Gnorb). I was behind the camera, taking the picture.
The basic rules are these: Thereview or tutorial must be about something that hasn't before been covered orreviewed by either OCAddiction or Dev Hardware. In fact, the hardware reviewedmust at least be an almost-latest-and-greatest item - nothing older than threemonths from first release, please. Of course, this can be anything from an MP3player to a processor to a step-by-step detailing your adventures in moddingyour case, just so long as it's at least 1250 words.
Second, the contest runs until November 30, 2003, so yourarticle must be in by that time. Articles must be submitted as an HTML file (noMS Word "Save as HTML" junk!), and should be sent to norbert@developershed.com, with thesubject line reading "DHW/OCA Contest Entry." Please include yourfull name, phone number, AIM/ICQ/MSN/IRC handle, mailing address, and e-mailaddress.
Finally, judging will look at subjectmatter, quality of content, and grammar. In fact, chances are that if we haveto edit it, you ain't winning. It might still be published, so not all is lost! You may yet still have the chance at the fame and geek chic that comes withgetting published. I don't want to have to spend three days correctinggrammatical mistakes, though - I'm not your English teacher, daing it!
By submitting an article, youagree to give Dev Hardware, OCAddiction, and its parent company, DeveloperShed, exclusive re-publication rights to the story. All the credit for genius, however, will stay with you, so you don’t need to worry about me placing mygrubby little name on the story and claiming it's mine. The winner will beannounced on the website and via phone call, or e-mail, or IM – whatever'seasiest.
Sound good?
