Logitech X-530 Speaker System Review - Installation
(Page 3 of 4 )
In order to get the most out of the speaker system, ensure that you have a 6, 7 or, 8 channel soundcard; this information can be found in your motherboard's user manual, or your sound card's user manual. If you do not have a 6 channel or higher card you will not receive sound from a few speakers. Four channel sound cards will not play sound from the center speaker. When using a 2 channel sound card will not play any sound from the rear speakers or center speaker.

The RCA connectors are for each of the speakers. The wide black cable is for the signals to be transferred from the right speaker to the subwoofer and amplifier, power is supplied to the amplifier thru the wall plug, the green black and orange wires connect to the back panel of the computer.
Once you have determined if you have a 6 channel or higher audio card, you can begin the installation of the speakers. They are color coded for what speakers they control: green is front left and right, black is rear left and right, orange is center and subwoofer. Although sometimes the colors may not match your audio card, this can make connecting all those speaker a breeze for most people.

Once you connect the speakers to the back panel, you can continue installing the speakers to the subwoofer. First, connect the cable from the right speaker to the sub woofer by using the large main cable that looks like a monitor cable. Then connect the front left speaker which has the short cord, and then connect the center speaker. The rear channel speakers have very long cables so that you can mount them on a wall behind you. The cords are not long enough to make it all the way to some back walls because they would have to run thru the middle of a room. In this case, you may want the rear speakers to be stored when you don't need them and able to be pulled out when you do.
Once you have setup all of the speakers, check all connections to assure that they are connected to their proper plug and configure your systems speakers in windows.
