    Logitech X-240 2.1 PC Speakers - Conclusion

I was pleasantly surprised when I unwrapped the Logitech X-240 2.1 speakers to replace my aging factory JBLs, which were way overdue to be replaced. There's absolutely no comparison between a pair of factory PC speakers and the X-240 system. This system produces rich sound with crystal clear highs, solid mid-bass, and decent lows. If you're looking for a system that will rattle the windows, you may want to look elsewhere. The X-240 system provides a good balance between the high and low frequencies which blend together in nearly perfect harmony.

There aren't too many negative things that I can say about this system. It comes with a great price, stellar sound, and integrated MP3 player dock - all very good attributes.

My only negative comment about this system is the "only" average low-bass response. The 4-inch woofer is nice, but it doesn't produce bone-rattling lows. It'll dip down to the 40Hz frequency level, but there's not enough power running through the subwoofer to make it produce sound that you can actually feel, like other larger and more power-driven subwoofers will do.

The only other negative issue that I have with the X-240 system, and this may be common among other speaker systems, is that I can hear a clicking noise through the speakers every time a light switch is turned on/off in the house. This issue is due to either the power wires being too close to some of the other seemingly hundreds of "spaghetti wires" lurking behind my computer, or it's from the overloaded power-strip into which the speakers are plugged. Either way, it hasn't bothered my too much, so I haven't even bothered to fix the problem yet. If you've had this same issue with your speakers, please post in the "comments" section below.

So if you're in the market for a good quality speaker system to replace your raggedy, old factory pair of speakers, the Logitech X-240 2.1 speaker system may be a perfect choice for you, especially if you're on a tight budget. For under $50, you'll have a hard time finding a better 2.1 speaker system, so it's no surprise that I highly recommend the X-240 system for any budget-minded "speaker hunter."
