    Wii Sports Resort - Gameplay

Enough griping; onto the game itself. Let’s begin by taking a look at the activities that are fun enough to keep you interested in single player mode. Perhaps the most fun activity in Wii Sports Resort is Table Tennis. You can volley back and forth with your opponent and affect the spin put on the ball by changing the angle with which you hold the remote. Of course the velocity of your swing can affect the power with which you return the ball too. Table Tennis is probably my personal favorite because it keeps you on your toes, and ping pong in itself is a pretty fun game.

Archery is another good one to play alone, and definitely takes some practice to get used to. You replicate the use of a bow and arrow by holding your Wii remote in front, gently pulling the nunchuk back towards you, and then finally releasing to shoot. It sounds simple enough, but you have to also account for wind and distance while shooting. The different environments, such as canyons, add for a nice change too.

Golf is another good game for you loners out there. You can play up to 18 holes to really waste time if you so desire. This edition of golf comes with plenty of new courses to challenge your game, as well as more clubs to choose from. The added sensitivity of MotionPlus makes putting more realistic as well. Playing is as easy as rocking your hands backwards to mimic a golf swing.

Bowling is upgraded as well, with several mini-games available to master. The amount of spin you can put on the ball is easier to achieve in Wii Sports Resort, and there is even a mini game that focuses on this one aspect. You can also play a standard 10 pin game, or the much wilder 100 pin game.

Frisbee is another fun activity that requires some getting used to if you’ve never thrown an actual Frisbee. You can throw the Frisbee to a canine in the Frisbee Dog mini-game or aim for targets in Frisbee-golf. All in all, these activities are interesting and have enough of a learning curve to keep you busy if you’re a hermit and have no friends like me, or you are too broke to shell out $60 for the extra MotionPlus accessories.
