Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Gameplay

Perhaps a down side to the gameplay of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is that it is lacking in variety. While the campaigns are lengthy indeed, the maps and missions are similar and could give the occasional player a dose of déjà vu while playing. To counteract this homogeneity in its structure, the developers of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen have instituted several unlockables and bonus objectives to the campaigns.

For instance, if you are good enough to reach two bonus objectives provided in a campaign, you will in turn be rewarded with some energon to help boost your attributes. You can also stall the gameplay clock if you meet objectives to in turn allow you to win better medals on each level.

Some extra goodies to be achieved if successful and that might be noticeable to real fans of the series are vintage Transformer artwork as well as some episodes of the original cartoon. The addition of the various unlockables and bonus objectives to the campaigns add to the replayability of the game and keep it fresh and interesting. Add to that the moderate difficulty of the controls, and you definitely have a game on your hands that will take a while to completely master.
