NCAA Basketball 10 for the PS3

It’s that time of the year again, when it simply does not get any better for sports fans. You have college football in full swing, the NFL every Sunday, the NBA tipping off, and most importantly for some, college basketball. While the NBA is pretty popular with many sports fans thanks to current superstars like Lebron James and Kobe Bryant, many traditionalists across the country prefer college basketball for its excitement, decade-long rivalries, and school pride. Luckily for these fans who are also gamers, this time of the year also means the release of NCAA Basketball 10 for the PS3.

Although you may have known it as the March Madness series from years back, this new edition of the college basketball game from EA Sports brings some new tweaks to the table in terms of gameplay and presentation that are sure to get you hyped and make you feel as if you are part of the real thing. The game is not perfect by any means -- it has some issues here and there -- but the overall experience is a positive one that college basketball fanatics and sports game fans should enjoy. You can pick up NCAA Basketball 10 for the PS3 for $59.95.

EA Sports deserves high praise for how it really captured the energy and essence of college basketball with NCAA Basketball 10. Every element of the presentation so closely mimics that of the real thing that, at times, you may feel like you are watching a live broadcast. As I mentioned, the excitement of college basketball is one of the reasons why many fans prefer it over the high-priced, professional dullness that is sometimes seen in the NBA, and you can really feel this difference while playing NCAA 10.

The best aspect of the overall look and presentation of NCAA 10 is the implementation by Electronic Arts of both ESPN and CBS broadcasts to the game. Fans who watch games on ESPN and CBS will immediately notice that the in-game graphic overlays in NCAA 10 look exactly as they do on television, making the experience so realistic it’s scary. The overlays are not video game-like in any way, and they transition in and out while you play to perfection. Even during timeouts the game will shift away to show you highlights of the game, making no moment a dull one.
