Grand Theft Auto IV Review - GTA Goes Online, Multiplayer

Possibly one of the most anticipated features for the GTA series is online multiplayer capability. This becomes available once the single player campaign is completed. Online GTA IV plays pretty seamlessly without much lag, even during intense fights, when the screen becomes filled with several participants. Up to sixteen players can create chaos in Liberty City at a time.

The usual fare in online gaming of Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch are present in GTA IV. There are also some new and exciting contests. One is GTA Race; it's simply a race, true, but one with enough weapons to make any online thug happy.

Another nice feature is Cops n' Crooks, which is essentially a battle between teams of good and evil -- the police versus the bad guys. The main objective is for the crooks to reach an extraction point before the cops get to them. Cops n' Crooks battles also enable online players to choose from an array of weapons and vehicles, making this brand of online gaming even more interesting.

Could Grand Theft Auto IV be one of the greatest games ever? It certainly could be. From the visually captivating graphics, to the sometimes downright outrageous dialog, this is a game that could keep even the most demanding gamer on their toes. There is simply so much to see and do that the game's playability seems to be never-ending, and with the new multiplayer content, Rockstar has made a great series even better.
