Grand Theft Auto IV Review - Aesthetics
As usual in the GTA series, most of the characters are stereotyped, and no race, religion, or gender is spared in this edition. Every racial slur and sexist remark is included, yet the style in which it is presented makes it seem not so offensive. You will probably find yourself bursting out in laughter while playing GTA IV at the off-the-wall comments dished out by the residents of the game. You can also enjoy hours of game play without hearing the same comment twice.

Aesthetically, Grand Theft Auto IV leaves no stone unturned. While at times as in other chapters of the series there are bugs in the programming, one can never be bored with this new edition of Liberty City; nearly every street is unique. Only super picky players would notice the small glitches from time to time, as the sheer beauty of the game dwarfs any graphic issues that usually accompany games.
Each neighborhood has its own little quirks and details that can make the game player feel like they are on a sightseeing tour. GTA IV's version of Liberty City is not as vast as that of the San Andreas version, yet this level of attention to detail makes it even more special. Liberty City is so bustling with action that the problems we did see were just an afterthought.
As stated earlier, this is definitely a game where you can just sit back and take in the scenery, even without Niko partaking in the action. On any given street corner you can view anything ranging from the Liberty City PD chasing thugs to random car accidents. You can even witness hotheaded residents bump into each other on the street and begin fighting.
