Band Hero for the PS3 - Now You're Jamming

For the more creative types, there is a new Jam Session mode. In this mode, you can let your creative juices flow in the studio. You can select a background loop and experiment with different notes with your friends. This is a fun mode when you don’t want to play any actual songs and just want to fool around. You can also create your own tracks if you wish.

Besides the Jam Session and the other aforementioned modes, players can also take their skill online versus others. There are even leader boards on which you can strive to make your name known to the gaming community.

As far as the look of the game goes, it’s quite entertaining and engrossing. The camera angles are great and make you feel like you’re in the middle of the action. Character models are cartoonish but fun to look at, and you can create your own in addition to the real-life artists that you can unlock such as Taylor Swift. You can also create any combination of band members you desire; you can even have multiple clones at every position.

Band Hero for the PS3 is a great game for music lovers, especially pop fans. Even if you are not a gamer, you can be a part of the action, thanks to the overall flexibility in game modes and difficulty. While it does resemble previous Activision releases, it hits more of a different genre that should be successful in getting otherwise uninterested parties involved in gaming.
