A Look at HALO 2 - Vehicles
Gamers have spoken and Bungie has delivered. Now you are able use a whole number of vehicles in both single and multi-player mode. There is a different version of the warthog that is equipped with the Gauss cannon. Although we did see a warthog with a cannon make it to the PC version of HALO, the gun on this new version of the ‘hog is different and shoots armor-piercing shots instead of explosives. Now players are able to use the Covenant tank (WRATH) and a Banshee in Multiplayer levels as well.

There is also a brand-new vehicle in the game that can be used in single and multi-player mode. It is the Covenant equivalent to the human warthog-–a Spectre. Maximum of four people allowed--driver, gunner and two side passengers. It has a plasma cannon mounted on the back and can be extremely deadly with the right crew onboard.

The vehicles aren't invincible anymore. Every single vehicle is destructible with no exception, and the covenant vehicles even explode after being destroyed, which brings another interesting addition to the game, where you destroy a covenant vehicle and it actually does damage to anyone nearby when it blows up again.

The Covenant Ghost has gone through some re-vamping as well: now you have a boost of power when you hit the left trigger. It becomes very hard to control but extremely fast. It also has a weak spot now: when shooting at the ghost, look for an alien gas tank, located on the left side under the driver. One well-placed shot there and it's over for the driver.

Scorpion tanks are also destructible now and there is no way to snipe the person out of it anymore. There is always that certain player (you know who you are) who likes to board the Scorpion tank on the multiplayer levels and stay in forever while sniping people with the cannon across the Blood Gulch map. Well, you are in for a real treat: the cannon shots are faster and it takes a long time to destroy the tank.
Banshees are a lot easier to destroy, and also do tricks now like barrel rolls and loop-the-loops in the air. Another great addition is that now you can board the enemy's vehicle while they are driving and actually kick them out of their seat. That looks really funny when you can come up to a ghost driven by Covenant elite, jump on the vehicle, smack the alien a few times and take over. New additions do not spoil the picture here; little things you loved about HALO's vehicles are back and improved.
