A Look at HALO 2 - The plot (briefly)
The game's plot is a sequel to the first one, where Master Chief, the savior of the universe in the first HALO, is at it again. Captain Keyes is dead, as we all know. His daughter Miranda Keyes is in command, and Master Chief is the Human Super weapon one more time. Only this time Bungie gives it a little twist. What we are so used to seeing as the Covenant, aliens that we have to brutally murder on our path, aren’t all evil anymore. If HALO was all about Master Chief kicking alien butt and taking names, HALO2 is about Master Chief working in co-operation with the Covenant. Not only that, there is also an alien high council that is eager to activate another HALO ring (again) and raging dispute among the races somehow makes the Covenant the “good” guys too.

Don’t you worry though, you are still going to get your fun bashing the little grunts and delivering prompt headshots to the Covenant elites throughout the game. Although the plot ties in to the first one, I have to say that it definitely seems confusing at first. I mean, the same species we worked so hard to eliminate, now have feelings, intelligence and even common sense? Huh?
First you start off as Good old Master Chief killing the Covenant. After a few levels of fun you discover yourself in the skin of a Covenant Elite that is being blamed for the destruction of the first HALO ring and being sent on a mission by the prophets, who seem to be taking the main spot in the high council.

Being able to play as an elite, in my opinion, is the best addition to the plot of the game. You look different, you have different weapons and you can even use active camouflage (invisibility) for a short period of time. Your mission objective changes accordingly. Remember the Invisible elites from the first game with the swords in their hands, who were almost impossible to kill? Well in HALO2 you can be one of them.

Then, as the game progresses, you get to play as the Master Chief again, then it switches to Elite and so on until it comes to the last level, where...well, not only we are still guessing what happened, we’re not going to ruin it all for you.
