2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa for Wii - Gameplay

As for the gameplay itself, it is a mixed bag. Again, if you like realism, this is not the game for you. For instance, if you take a shot on goal, it will take off as a rocket, complete with sound effects and a fireball-like animation trailing the ball. If you are about to do a bicycle kick, the game will go in slow motion as you perform the feat.

Things like this may appeal to some, but others may find them a complete turn off. Think of it almost as NBA Jam but for soccer, although it is not quite as exaggerated as that basketball title.

The difficulty level of 2010 FIFA World Cup is not too steep. Beginners can take on the game on its easy setting to learn the ropes, while those who want a challenge can set the difficulty to medium or hard.

Controls are satisfactory, although you will likely want to use a Classic Controller rather than the Wii remote and nunchuk. The Classic Controller simply gives you better control over the players' moves, while the Wii's iconic controls are somewhat awkward to use.

If you absolutely love soccer and want to have fun with friends, give 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa a shot. It is best in its multiplayer modes, and it provides for some lighthearted fun. If you value realism, however, your best bet is to skip out on this title.
