Zalman CNPS 7700 ALCU, Zalman VF700 review - Mounting the heatsink

Set the heatsink at the center of the CPU. Slightly tighten each bolt into the clip support a few turns at a time. Alternate between the two sides to ensure the heatsink lowers evenly onto the CPU, until the clip support is completely pressed against the grips. And now the CPU heatsink is installed.

The grip is now bolted down onto the clip support. Remember to tighten the grip on the other side to ensure the heatsink rests evenly on the CPU.

The heatsink is finally installed onto the motherboard and is plugged in and ready to go.

    Installing Fan Mate 2

Installing the provided fan speed controller is very simple. Plug the fan mate wire into the controller, attach the three pin connector onto the motherboard's fan header for the CPU, and attach the fan to the three pin header wired to the controller. If you plan not to use the motherboard's header you must turn the "Shut down if CPU fail" option off in BIOS. Otherwise the computer will not boot the first time.
