INTRODUCTION
If you haven't heard of Swiftech before you must be very new to the world of personal computers and overclocking. Swiftech is the leading developer of cooling solutions for PCs. Nine times out of ten if you looking for a cooling solution whether it be air or water cooling the best product for you is probably manufactured by Swiftech.
Swiftech was founded way back in 1994 as a Maintenance and Research & Development Organization for high-end Unix computers and imaging systems. Realizing in 1998 (think Celeron days) that there was a huge need for quality cooling components for PCs they began developing and manufacturing their quality heatsinks. They quickly made a name for themselves when they introduced the thermo-electric (Peltiers) powered cooling solutions for the slot 1 processors. If you don't remember these things they were hella-cool with the closed cell foam bracket and metal mounting plates. Following this up was the very impressive pre-built water cooling solution installed inside a Fong Kai case. The water cooling was expensive at the time but I think it was the first mainstream, easy to use water cooling introduced to the overclocking community. Since that time Swiftech has been refining their products, getting better performance, and equally important making it affordable. That brings us to today. Over the last couple years Swiftech has had more competition in the cooling market, with companies like Koolance first introducing a water-cooling solution pre-installed in a case then with an external solution, the Exos. Not to mention the myriad of smaller water cooling companies like Senfu, Danger Den, and others.
With all that in mind Swiftech released the H20-8500 built around their hugely successful MCW5000 water-block. The H20-8500 is designed to be installed in most mid-tower cases with minimal hassle. And obviously as a water cooling solution, it should provide excellent cooling performance with low noise. Now lets take a look at what you are buying when you order the H20-8500.

Inside the box you'll find:
MCW5000 CPU water-block with retention hardware for either an AMD or Intel P4 processor
MCR80-F radiator assembly
(2) 80x80x15mm fans
MCP300 pump
1/2" fill and bleed kit
MCK525 assembly (this holds the pump and bleeding hardware)
(2) 2 1/2 ft long 1/2" OD vinyl tubes for fill and bleed
7 feet of 1/2" OD high quality vinyl tubing
2 ounce bottle HydrX specially formulated coolant
various screws, ties, clips, and other mounting hardware
tutorial and installation guide
The H20-8500 arrives very well packaged on you doorstep. The water block, radiator, and pump are well protected in their own box surrounded by foam.

You probably will notice the small size of the MCR80-F radiator. While I wouldn't recommend using it with a thermo-electric device, I am intrigued to find out how well it does. I understand Swiftech chose this particular radiator in order to get the H20-8500 to fit in the majority of cases. The MCP300 pump is rated at 300 gallons per hour. As far as reliability not a whole lot is known about the pump because Swiftech just recently began using it.
