Now we have a very different scenario on our hands. The only temperature drop we can identify is on S3, which is near the bottom of the case. I expected this as the PCAC is increasing air flow volume through the case, and no heat source is located before S3 (in the direction of airflow). The rest of the changes become pretty obvious in the following graph: S2 again takes a jump, but this time we see a 5.4 degree increase. Definitely more substantial than before, and further proof that the PCAC is moving a decent amount of hot air away from the CPU. S1 is an extremely important figure here, though. We might expect that if the PCAC is moving all of this hot air away from the CPU we would see a drop in temperatures behind the CPU. This is not the case. We actually see a marginal increase of .6 degrees from having the PCAC turned completely off.
Now that we've seen the effects of the PCAC on system temperatures over a range of conditions, let's sit back and try to interpret just what these numbers mean, and whether the PCAC is a viable solution for bringing your overall temps down.
