Evercool PCAC - The Fan
Here is the fan itself, consisting of numerous thin aluminum blades along a horizontal axis. We are already familiar with this type of blower fan from existing CPU and case coolers, but this is the only 5.25" bay drive cooler utilizing this design which isn't intended for hard drive cooling (to the best of my knowledge).

The PCAC receives power to the empty 3-pin power header depicted below. You can use the included 3-pin to 3-pin power cable to plug into your motherboard or fanbus. Another 3-pin connection next to this one directs power to the motor (we don't have to touch this connection).

While you are looking over these images you may notice that the PCAC is going to extrude quite a bit from the front of the case. This is necessary due to the design of the unit. This design might not be a problem for many of you, but installing it in a Chieftec Dragon, one of the most popular cases on the enthusiast market, turned into a problematic situation. Everything seems fine at first.

And we see that everything was fine until I tried to close the door. The PCAC sticks out so far from the case that the door is forced to remain open by a good inch or so.

The size of the unit is only a problem if you have a door on the front of your case, so this certainly won't apply to everyone. The quality of construction of the PCAC is mediocre at best. A few simple additions could have given it a much better feel, although the most important aspect of the unit has yet to be evaluated - cooling performance.
