Evercool Neon Crab - Testing Temperatures
(Page 4 of 5 )
I used a CompuNurse Digital Temp Sensor to record temperatures throughout the various tests. The idle temps on the memory were 34.8c/94.8f. For the results below I used SiSoft Sandra 2005's Memory Bandwidth Benchmark and it's Cache and Memory Benchmark, three times each. Next I used Prime 95's Torture Test for 30 minute periods. Lastly I opened iTunes, WinAmp, and Windows Media Player, cued up some music on each of them and then turned on their visual displays so that all three were on the screen at once for 10 minutes.
These three tests were meant to simulate above average levels of computer usage. The results are as follows (with a chart for both Celcius and Fahrenheit for convenience).

As you can see, especially on the Visuals test, the Neon Crab does a good to excellent job of keeping temperatures from rising much. The change from idle to load when the cooler is on is less important though, when compared to the difference between the two different load temps that I have shown in the graph.
