Corsair Water Cooling System - Conclusion

    Pros

    • Easy to install; simple operation
    • High-quality components
    • Quiet operation
    • max. 12 degree temperature drop
    • manual on CD is excellent
    Cons
    • Insufficient cooling for serious overclocking
    • no paper installation manual
    • flimsy wire for the 120mm fan with poorly made power connection
    • CPU block not polished, surface is quite rough

    Conclusion

Corsair COOL has a very well thought-out design. It is simple in both architecture and installation. The instruction manual was thorough and does not miss a single detail. They provided plenty of hardware for different cases and plenty of tubing as well. The system let us achieve a maximum of a 12-degree drop in CPU temperature. These could be enough to achieve a higher overclock for some systems. It also did a great job cuting down on noise, reducing the sound to about half the dBs. It looks great and helps improve airflow in the case.

However, it would not be suitable for an extreme cooling solutions that experienced overclockers may be seeking. If you are looking for an extreme solution to take your CPU a step further, COOL may not be your choice. If you are looking for drastic overclocks and have money to spend, I would recommend adding $100 and buy yourself a top-of-the-line cooler. of course, the high end equipment has a large of draw back too. The main problem with more advanced systems, besides the price tag, is that they usually are as noisy as air cooling solutions. So, if noise is your enemy and you want better performance than your air-cooled HSF, Corsair COOL is the system to get.

At the time of this article, the price for the system is $200. If you are looking to reduce fan noise and would like a great cooling solution for your PC, Corsair COOL will definitely do the job well. The one problem is that the cost associated with this system may not justify its performance for everyone. Keep in mind, though, that is about as silent as it gets and cools very effectively.
