Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Review - Pros and Cons of the Silentium T2

    Pros:

    • Near silent operation even with a few loud components.

    • Ability to have a high performance hard drive yet dramatically reduce the noise.

    • Great cooling design.

    • Solid construction.

    • Simple tool-less installation.

    • Front panel accessories are always handy.

    • Airflow is surprisingly good for relatively few fans.

    • Strong power supply with good rails, even with an over-clocked system.

    • Extra rubber rings and zip ties.

    • Different case design with same technology, if you don’t like the way this ones looks.

    • Excellent packaging to prevent damage while shipping.

    Cons:

    • Some motherboard compatibility issues.

    • Cannot upgrade power supply in the future.

    • Power supply can heat up a little bit while gaming (100% system usage)

    • Case is a little heavy.

    • Raised plastic base interferes with removal of side panel.

    • Hard drives can be a little tricky to remove from the HDD muffler.

    • Only 1 included SATA power cord, which must be used in the HDD muffler.

    • HDD clip is a little weak, and breaks easily.

    • Power supply cables can be a pain to route around the case.

    Conclusion

The Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 is exactly what I would have expected from such a highly respectable quiet cooling company. Their CPU coolers are amazing performers, and so are their graphics coolers. This case keeps their tradition alive.

The company's case  outperformed my expectations with a strong power supply, a great chassis with surprisingly good airflow, and a hard drive muffler that can tame one of the loudest, most annoying, high-pitched hard drives that has ever existed.

Without a doubt the Silentium T2 is a great case. It truly is silent, depending on your other components of course. Even with the negatives I mentioned, I highly recommend this case to anyone who wants a good looking, quiet case that includes all of the extra quiet cooling components they’ll need. This case is a must have for those people.

Id like to thank Arctic Cooling for donating this case for review. I highly suggest you check out Arctic Cooling’s line of products if you’re interested in great cooling technology that is also low noise solutions. You can’t beat the Swiss art of engineering.
