Arctic Cooling Silentium T2 Review - Thermodynamics and airflow
(Page 5 of 8 )
Arctic Cooling designed the chassis for both noise reduction and noise prevention. Instead of relying on chassis fans to pump air into the case, Arctic Cooling placed grills in critical locations for air to flow freely into the chassis.

Air freely flows into the case towards the CPU cooler.

Air can also flow freely from the base of the chassis towards the GPU cooler. Exhausted air is unable to flow towards the rear vents, preventing the system from recycling exhausted air.

Exhausted air is sent out from the front of the chassis through the PSU.

Exhausted CPU air and any other heat are sent out through the back of the chassis at the top of the case.
