What has Sony Been up to Lately?
I've become a big fan of Sony electronics in the past few years. It seems to me like Sony is always on the cutting edge of technology. Their electronic devices always seem to have that little extra "something" that makes them better than the competition. It may be a touch-screen, HD capability, noise-canceling technology, or anything else that puts them in a position to beat whoever they are competing against. Read on to see what Sony has been up to.
I've read a lot about Sony in the news lately, so I thought that I would do a little research into a company that seems to revolutionize the electronics industry time and time again. What impresses me with Sony electronics is the number of firsts this company has brought to the electronic world.
They were the first to introduce the world to a black and white transistor television in 1960. Sony introduced their first Trinitron color television in 1968, which revolutionized color TV with brighter and more vibrant colors. In 1982, Sony introduced the first CD player, the CDP-101. In 1990, Sony introduced the first writable CD. Sony introduced the world's first HDV 1080i camcorder back in 2004. I think you get the picture.
There are countless other firsts for Sony, and they are constantly making their electronics smaller, lighter, faster, and of better quality. To add to their list of firsts, Sony announced a plan to accept old and broken electronic equipment at any Waste Management Recycling Center across the U.S. for free. This electronics recycling initiative is currently the largest of its kind in the world. Sony's goal is to have a recycling center within 20 miles of everyone in the entire United States.
Let's take a look at some of the other stories relating to Sony and things that we can expect to see from them.
