    Web-based Image Manipulation Services Review

Do you shudder when you see the price tag on image manipulation software such as Photoshop, but hate the simplicity of Paint and other free image editing programs? As it has so often in the past, the Internet comes to the rescue with a variety of image editing and manipulation services. These run the gamut from simple enough for a ten-year-old to complicated enough to give Photoshop a run for its money. And best of all, they're free.

The Internet has become enormously enriched over the last few years. Years ago we thought about the Internet as a vast resource for information and casual e-mailing. Nowadays, its range of utility has sky-rocketed. There are mass socializing services (MySpace, Hi5, Facebook), multimedia radio projects (LastFM, Pandora) vast image hosting services (Flickr, Photobucket, Imageshack) and so forth.

Virtually, right now we are able to say that we can do almost anything on the Internet if we have access to a browser -- nothing more or less than a web browser. Not too long ago web-based photo editing services emerged, too. But why would someone want to use a web-based photo editing service when excellent image manipulation software is available?

Usually standard image manipulation software packages can be quite complex, huge, and very expensive. An average Joe that is not an artist or designer might have trouble figuring out the specific tools that are required to carry out common image effects or additional changes. Also, it is quite understandable that the idea of paying hundreds of dollars for an application that he would use only every now and then isn't compelling either.

In this article we will look at the possibilities offered by free online web-based image manipulation. These on-the-go services are pretty decent and an average Joe could handle them with ease. They might not compete with the latest and greatest commercial photo editing suite but nonetheless their performance is respectable.
