Vivendi Games and Activision Merger - Introducing Vivendi and Activision (Page 2 of 5 )
Vivendi Games (VG, formerly known as VUG) is a global developer, publisher, and distributor of interactive entertainment heavily concentrating on the development of video games. It’s headquartered in Paris, France, was founded in 1996, and is a 100% subsidiary of Vivendi SA.

As soon as we mention Vivendi, the following franchises come to mind: Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. But we cannot forget about other huge successes, such as the ridiculously popular World of Warcraft, which ranks as the #1 MMORPG in the world. It is maintained by Vivendi’s Blizzard Entertainment division (headquartered Irvine, CA). Also F.E.A.R., which is owned by Sierra Entertainment division (headquartered in L.A., CA).
Activision, Inc. is an American developer, publisher, and distributor of entertainment video games focusing on, but not limited to, gaming consoles. The company is headquartered in Santa Monica, CA; it was formed back in 1979. We can mention the following notable titles: Doom 3, Guitar Hero, Star Wars Jedi Knight I & II, but also the Call of Duty, the Tony Hawk series, and the Spider-Man franchises.

Along with the computer video gaming industry, Activision is heavily involved in the development of console games. Some of their outstanding titles were and are console-only. They have products for the Nintendo Wii, XBOX 360, and Playstation 3.
Now that we’ve briefly presented these two companies we can focus on the deal, its specifics, future rumors, and other opinions regarding what to expect and how this mega-merger will affect the gaming industry.
