Ten Wacky Accessories for Desktop Computers - Strange But Fun Accessories
(Page 4 of 4 )
Now that we have made our way through the conventional accessories that can be made to look strange it’s time to move on to things that are just strange in concept.
Cup warmer
If you’ve been drinking a cup of coffee, tea, or a cocoa at your desk on a cold day, then you know that it can be very disappointing to take a sip and end up with an ice cold beverage. Now your USB port can help you out with this little problem. Yes, someone has actually taken it upon themselves to make a USB-powered cup warmer.
For your amusement
If you’re more in the mood for amusement than for a beverage, we can also talk about some entertainment-related USB products. You could have a USB-powered aquarium, or a real growing USB garden, green house style. In more of an aggressive mood? Then how about a rocket launcher! Okay, so maybe they’re only Nerf arrows, but I’ll bet you that sending them flying around in the office will put a smile on everyone’s face. Well, everybody except the CEO, but you always knew that he never had a sense of humor.
If you’re in the mood for one less active USB frivolity, you could always go retro and get yourself, or some poor unwitting recipient, a disco ball. Who knows? Maybe you’ll start a retro trend, or least you will not need your cubicle lights at night. You can’t deny style.
Okay, I know I was going to give you only 10, but there were just so many fun ones that I couldn’t pass them by. If I had stuck to the strict limit and cut it off at 10, I just would’ve been cheating you anyway. Really, when you think about it, not knowing about a USB greenhouse or disco ball is a quality-of-life issue!
Given how much time we spend with our computers in this modern era, you should be having some fun, or things will go badly. The expression “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” must have been coined for a reason. As always, you don’t have to follow my suggestions if you don’t like them. Just think of this as a jumping-off point.
