Ten Wacky Accessories for Desktop Computers
(Page 1 of 4 )
Have you ever noticed how many gift-giving occasions come up in the spring and summer? Birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, you name it. Sometimes the event itself gives a clue to what you should give, but sometimes it doesn't. That's when you need to fall back on your own creativity. If you don't know the person very well, but you know they have a desktop computer, here's a list of some inexpensive gifts that should help break the ice.
The time has come, and you’re confronted with an overwhelming sense of dread at the idea that you have to choose a gift. Maybe it is a gift for a person that you do not know that well, or maybe it is a gift for someone you really want to impress, or maybe it’s a gift for the person who has everything; it could even just be a gift for you. No matter who the gift is for, you find yourself in the crux of indecision; after all, what you give now will tell something about you, and also about what you think of the receiver. You certainly wouldn’t want to send the wrong message, now would you? I didn’t think so.
While we could spend an extensive amount of time trying to figure out exactly with causing your gift giving anxiety that would take us forever, and I’m certainly not your therapist. You should probably consider yourself lucky that I’m not; after all if I was your therapist, then I couldn’t be your personal shopper for the day, and that’s the real need.
I am going to take a guess here that you probably do not know the person shopping for very well. If you did, you would know what to get, or at least who to ask. (Hint to the guys in the audience: if she’s got a best friend, ask her). This means that you need something relatively generic, something that will not offend and that will be universally useful, or least attached to something universally useful.
That brings me to computers. Even if the person you know doesn’t have one in their home, the odds are in your favor that they work with one. If you do know someone who does not own a computer, then might I suggest that you get them an isolated mountain cabin? Just kidding, you don’t have to be a shut-in to enjoy a quiet life, but for the purposes of this piece we are going to assume the person you’re shopping for owns computer of some kind.
It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive, and I don’t even care if it’s a Mac or PC, because today we're going to talk about wacky accessories for computers. We're going to focus on desktop computers specifically, for one simple reason: we have more options. No one wants to weigh down a laptop with flotsam; it is just too expensive of an investment. Plus, no one wants people in Starbucks or the airport to see those things and judge them.
