Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for Xbox 360 Preview - Joys of the Force
(Page 4 of 4 )
Combinations between lightsaber and Force moves in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed work well and are fun to execute after some practice. The combinations are probably one of the best features in the game so far. Controls are very responsive in the game and allow you to perform these powerful combinations by using any grouping of the Force push, Force grab, and lightsaber buttons.
The lightsaber combat system works best if you time your moves well, although you can still be effective if you are one of those players who likes to mash your controllers buttons all the way down to the bone. If you actually take the time to calculate your moves, though, you will get the most bang for your buck. Again, practice makes perfect, and practicing your timing in the lightsaber combat system will definitely reap you the most rewards.

Another rewarding part of the gameplay is the fact that your surrounding environment is interactive. It is also advantageous to use props in your environment in conjunction with Force moves. Using props is not only fun, but it can even be more effective and destructive than using just combinations or your lightsaber.
For example, you can use Force moves to move or throw boxes or other barricades in your environment at soldiers to eliminate several at once. One pretty fun move is to throw Wookiee soldiers into trees, which after time will make them topple to the ground. This is much more fun than playing a game that has a static environment that you cannot use to your advantage. This simply makes the game more interesting and adds to the action.
What has been released so far regarding Star Wars: The Force Unleashed should definitely make fans of the series anticipate its release. It’s a shame that you will have to wait until September 16 to pick it up, but it at least gives you something to look forward to.
