Security Issues with the Bluetooth Headset - What to Do If You've Been Breached

If you have already been breached, or suspect that you have, there are some things that you can do:

    1. Verify your bill. Ask your plan mates to be sure that no one really did make that call to Mexico City or Paris. Also, if you're not sure, and the call is recent, your dialed numbers list in the phone's memory is a valuable asset.
    2. Contact your service provider to let them know that these aren't your charges. This also helps you to make sure that this isn't a computer glitch. If it's not a records glitch, move on to 3.
    3. Ask to speak to whomever handles identity theft in their organization and file a complaint/report. If they tell you no one handles it, ask for the corporate offices to get you on the right track.
    4. When you file the complaint, find out when you should hear back by and if you don't, then follow up.
    5. If they can not block the phone that is cloning yours, change numbers and buy a new phone, just to be safe.

So that's everything that you need to know about the world of Bluetooth hacking: what it is, how to keep from becoming a victim of it and how to respond if you do get tricked. Safe chatting.

Please note: the author of this piece is not foolhardy enough to tell you the ins and outs of how to do these attacks. Quite frankly that is a level of legal liability that I am just not willing to take on.
