Mother`s Day Gift Guide 2007 - Digital Cameras
(Page 2 of 4 )
Every mom loves to capture memories of her kids, and what better way to do this than with a digital camera? I've gotten my mom digital cameras in the past, and trust me, you can't go wrong if you do a little research ahead of time. I have listed two good digital cameras that Mom will love below.

This first camera is what I got my mom last Mother's Day, and she still talks about how great it is. It is the Canon Powershot S3 IS. What my mom likes about it is that it is a bigger sized camera that is powerful. My mom personally enjoys the cameras that are a little larger and offer more mega pixels, a greater zoom and more features.
This camera offers 6 MP and a 12x Optical Zoom. This means she doesn't have to be close to the object she wants to photograph to take high quality pictures of anything. This will work GREAT if you or your siblings play sports or sing in a chorus. When Mom can't be in the front row ready with her camera, she can sit back a few rows and still take great pictures. Once again I highly recommend this gift for mothers.

For moms that would rather have a small camera so they can throw it in their purse and carry it everywhere they go, ready for a picture at any moment, I recommend the Sony Cybershot DSCW55. It's a great little camera that can be carried around anywhere and not need a separate case; it's definitely not too heavy to lug around. It does offer a 3x optical zoom. It comes in a variety of colors. Two of the more popular colors seem to be baby blue and pink. It also comes in black and silver.

A great gift to go along with a digital camera or for next year's Mother's Day is a printer. Now that Mom has all her pictures on the computer, she needs copies to show off her kids with. This year my mom is getting a printer; I'm just hoping she doesn't check this site very often! I wanted one that does great pictures, and one that she can also use by herself. My mom isn't known for being the most tech savvy, and I don't want daily calls about this printer, so I wanted to keep it simple.
I wanted a great photo printer, but could care less about copying and printing text out. I did a lot of research and found the Canon Pixma iP6700. It doesn't cost a lot, but it offers great bang for the buck. You can put the memory card from the digital camera into the printer and start printing.

This last photo idea I came up with for last Christmas. This is a proven great gift for moms. I got her a digital picture frame, and she LOVES it. I ordered it after Thanksgiving. When I got home for winter break, I spend part of the break taking the many photo albums of pictures of my family and scanning them all into my computer. Now she has all the pictures from her wedding to current times in a single picture frame and can view the last 22 years in an hour or so.
Make sure you have a memory card on which to put the pictures, or Mom can use the one straight from her camera. Digital picture frames vary both in features and price. The one I got my mom had support for a direct USB connection to the camera as well as slots for the more common digital media cards. Another great feature is the remote. While it isn't in use as much as the TV remote, it's a nice feature that many of them support. By the way, while Father's Day is further off, dads like this gift too!
