Madden 09 for the PS3 - Something for Madden Rookies and Veterans

For novices to the Madden franchise and its gameplay, EA Sports has added play styles to Madden 09 to ease their transition into playing the game. With play styles, players have the ability to choose different styles of gameplay that vary in difficulty. If you are new to the game and have a larger learning curve, you can select the easiest level, in which the AI will control all of your team’s functions with the exception of snapping the ball, running it, or passing. This can help simplify the game for you while you hone your skills.

Once perfected, you can move up all the way to the hardest level, where you are in charge of all of your team’s functions and movements. Unlike the new My Skill setting, play styles works rather flawlessly into Madden 09 and is a welcome addition to the franchise.

A few other tweaks to the Madden gameplay for 2009 are formation subs on the fly, slide protection, and bluffing play art, which is a must if you compete in multiplayer games. Rivalry games have also been added for those who follow the NFL closely, so if you are a Dallas Cowboys fan and a Washington Redskins hater, this should be a nice addition for you as you match the two teams up to your heart’s content.
