    Inexpensive Home Projectors - Models

Without further ado, let's meet the machines.

    Epson PowerLite S5 Multimedia Projector

    Currently this model is $548.

The Power Light give a relatively high resolution picture for up to about 30 feet, which is no distance to spit at for our needs. The images are also extra bright, which means that you can watch movies during the twilight hours outdoors, or in rooms where a window shade is partially open, without a problem.

    Toshiba TDP-SP1U Mobile Projector

    Currently this model is $598.

This one is HDTV compatible, weighs just under six pounds, has integrated speakers and a sharp picture resolution at most sizes. Don’t expect a clear movie at full wall size from this model, though, if you are more than a few feet away. Distance makes a difference when you buy this one.

ViewSonic PJ258D Portable DLP Projector w/ iPod ViewDock

    The model is currently $848.

The one is not just here because of the iPod dock, but that is a handy feature if you want to show a movie that you have on your iPod to your guests. In addition, this one is all set up for HDTV interfaces and has an amazing picture clarity.

Optoma DV11 MovieTime Projector w/ DVD Player

    The model is currently $848.

This one has a built-in DVD player, and is, so far, the only one that is actually built for home movie projection use. This means that you may need to get yourself an adapter to play your games on projector. Other than that, this model delivers superior picture quality and up to 349 inches of potential height on your picture.

Optoma HD65 DLP Home Theater Projector

    This model is currently $948.

This is another model built for home theater. The picture resolution is good, until you get over 260 to 270 inches on the picture size; other that than, if you project onto a flat surface, you will not know that you are using a projector.
