IT Inventory and Resource Management with OCS Inventory NG 1.02

From my personal experience, whenever you use an open source application or platform you are going to experience the same problem repeatedly: lack of good documentation. The issue is that most developers are programmers, and they do not have the time to make a top-notch quality book, or simply lack the ability to do so. Due to this, I've always admired the work of those writers who take the time to look into freeware and then write about it. Today I will present a book that focuses on OCS inventory NG, IT Inventory and Resource Management with OCS Inventory NG 1.02.
I have known the author, Barzan “Tony” Antal, for quite some time now, and I can vouch for him being both a great administrator and writer. He is currently finishing his computer science studies, while working for a mid-size well-known company as a system administrator and network technician. Besides this, he has written multiple technical articles that reach the top of a Google search.
While he was writing this book I was occupied with various other tasks; therefore I had little time to look at it in depth during its creation. Moreover, I have only superficial experience with inventory and resource management systems, so I can review this book from the point of view of a novice user encountering this book and subject for the first time.
This book will introduce you in a practical and in-depth fashion (sometimes painfully in-depth) to using the OCS Inventory NG system. The target audience is mainly system administrators who have to manage more than three or four computers at the same time for a small-to-large size company.
You can get a quick glance at the book and buy it from the Pack Publishing Website. Now the question is, what can you expect from it? I managed to get my hands on both the e-book and printed versions. While carrying around the e-book is easy with an USB stick, I still prefer the hard copy.
