Building a Folding Farm - The Setup

I am not a case-person, if for no other reason than I don't really have room for a half-dozen towers in my garage lab. Therefore, my farm is mounted on the wooden framework from an old mattress, in the process of being disassembled for recycling in the first photo. Feel free to insert lame farm/bedding joke here. Each board is mounted to brass standoffs which are screwed into the wooden frame. I used a 1/8" drill bit to make tap-holes and screwed each standoff directly into the wood with a 5mm socket driver. Each board has its own power supply, though I may convert one PSU to drive the pair of PIIs at a later date.
The hard drive is secured vertically to the framework using a pair of long screws countersunk through the wood support slats. I need only a single drive ribbon, however, the only cable I have that will fit at the moment is a dual-drive ribbon. I needed a CD-ROM to accomplish the install, so I borrowed from one of my other systems and plugged into IDE2.

Rather than routing a slew of power cables around the framework and into a standard power strip, I shortened a few extra power cords and spliced them together in a pair of utility boxes, all fed by a single power cord and protected by a 15 amp GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupt) outlet. Later, I plan on wiring a power conditioner into it.
