Firewall Information and Hardware Setup Guide - The GUI

    The GUI

Accessing the firewall is normally done through the GUI from a computer on the GREEN network.

We open up a browser on a LAN computer connected to the GREEN interface and type in https://192.168.0.1:441 that is, the address of the GREEN interface, through secure http via port 441.  Port 441 is not the standard https port, that one (41) is being blocked by the Smoothie.

You will be given a certificate dialog. Hit “Yes” and you will see the firewall homepage.  This page will show the current status of the firewall. At this point, it should be idle.

Clicking on the Networking tab will pull up a login screen. Enter admin and the password set during the installation, and go to the PPP Settings sub page.

There will be no profiles yet, so put in a profile name.  Under interface, we will select PPPoE and enter the appropriate username, password, etc. and save.

I like to restart the smoothie after making any major changes, just to be sure. You should be able to go to the home page again and try connecting.  You’ll want to check for updates and incorporate them.  Be sure to read the installation and administrator’s guides. Most questions and problems are solved just by reading the manual and any others likely have been asked and answered in the aforementioned forums.

That’s it! Our firewall appliance is ready to go!
