Bluetake BT007SX EDR Bluetooth USB Adapter - Conclusions

A word of warning to Windows users:  Windows does not fully support Bluetooth technology.  You will experience issues when you allow Windows to manage your Bluetooth connections.  Use the included BlueSoleil software to avoid these issues.

I was pleased with the overall performance of the device.  I had no trouble connecting devices.  Unfortunately, the selection of Bluetooth enabled devices is very limited in our office, but the adapter worked with everything we had available.

Its compact size makes it extremely easy to carry so you can carry it with you to synchronize your PDA with your notebook while on the go.  It would be nice if Bluetake included a dust cap to protect the USB connector for better portability.

The BlueSoleil software managed the Bluetooth connections marvelously.  It is however a little vague, relying almost solely on balloon tips for instructions.  I would also like to have seen some static titles on the service icons, although the choice of images does make guessing fairly easy.

The software comes with a very detailed help file and a few features to make it easier to use.  Popup messages in the system tray let you know immediately if the state of your connection changes and a service window lets you quickly see what types of devices are connected.

The variety of devices supported by the BlueSoleil software is quite exemplary.  I’m not sure there’s been a Bluetooth device made that’s not listed in their feature diagram.

All in all the Bluetake BT007SX EDR USB Adapter worked exactly as advertised.  I’d like to congratulate our friends over at Bluetake on another good product and thank them for the opportunity to review it.

I'd like to thank our good friends over at Bluetake for giving us the opportunity to play with this. They've put together another fine product that I'm sure will see some good use. I give the Bluetake BT007SX EDR USB Adapter and packaged BlueSoleil connection management software a combined 7 out of 10.
